Mr. N and I went on our first date to NYC many years ago. When we got home his sister gave us a hard time about not taking any pictures. We did get a few shots of Mr. N in the big toy store, the Naked Cowboy, and me in Central Park, but nothing of us together. Today the girls and I went with Mr. N to New York to see his school and all the things he does while he's away from us. We took this self-portrait on the train ride up.

The girls were a little bit of a handful on the way up. Lots of energy, and no where to unleash it. Here's Baby L playing with Mr. N. She was so cute giving him kisses.

Little M was so cute looking at all the people on the train. She thought it was so fun to peek at the people over her seat. She also thoroughly enjoyed not having to sit in her car seat while traveling. When we drove home she was so funny because she sat down on the seat and was all ready to go. She was so sad when we told her she had to get back in her car seat for the drive home.

This was all the stuff we traveled with! Oh man, when you travel with kids you really have to pack and be prepared! We dumped all our stuff in Mr. N's normal work space while we were at the GCA.

The school is different from the normal school you think of. The school is on the 5th floor of a big building on 44th street. It's just past Time Square. There is also a Coffee House on that same floor. These pictures were taken in the hallway (for lack of a better word).

These were taken in the Cast Hall, which is where Mr. N's classmates meet in the morning and draw different sculpture casts. Mr. N never got to work while we were there. The family created too much chaos. Here M was admiring some cast of something. I should get Mr. N to write what it actually was.

This was back in the hallway. I thought it was a cool shot of M swinging her hair!

This is a picture from the sculpture room. Mr. N actually cleans this room every morning. He wakes up between 4:30-4:45 am every morning and commutes 2 1/2 hours to NYC. He arrives at school early to clean this room. It's a work study tuition, so he gets almost half tuition for his work. It is such a blessing! This is a skeleton they had in that room. M was so funny trying to figure him out.

M also kept trying to escape outside. She loves the outdoors.

We debated about going to a museum afterwards, but opted to go home. We were tired and still had another 2 1/2 hours to go home. Plus, the girls hadn't napped, so they were exhausted. We decided we would come up another day to visit the museum. The ride home was actually smoother than the ride there. We just kept feeding the kids and they did great.

Baby L actually fell asleep walking back through the city to the train station. I was so shocked that she could fall asleep despite all the noise! She enjoyed a nice little nap.

It was so fun to see Mr. N's school. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. We met a lot of his classmates and got to see the different rooms. Mr. N timed everything perfectly so that we didn't have to see any of the models. That would have been awkward trying to explain that to M. I love this picture, even though it's blurry. It's Mr. N's military ID and she kept looking at it, and then at him. I imagine she was thinking something like, "hey dad, that's you"!
