M's Year in Review...Part I

My beautiful daughter (the first born) is turning TWO on February 7th. I can't believe it! Time passes so fast. Today I took her height (2 feet 9 inches) and weight (27.1 lbs) and went the babycenter.com website to do their Child Height Predictor. If you want to do it too, click here. Based on Mr. N and my height, her current weight and height, they predict she will be 5' 3". Not bad. That's taller than me!

I wanted to again, this year do a review with pictures of M's last year.

February 2008
M turned one, and so much has happened since! Poor M had to be really patient with her mommy, because she was still really sick from pregnancy (hence...not a lot of pictures). M , a pro at walking by this point, was still eagerly learning all there was to learn about her world.

March 2008
With March came the first Easter we could really celebrate with her. M enjoyed collecting Easter eggs, though it was hard learning that Easter eggs went in the basket and were not balls to throw. Once she got the hang of it though, she had a blast.

April 2008
Bath time is by far M's favorite time of the day. She still will occasionally go into the bathroom and ask, "Bath please?" M also loves to do things with her parents. Dad's thing is making pancakes for the family. For some reason Mom cannot cook pancakes. M loves to help daddy cook! M also got to try her hand at gardening (her dad's preferred summer past-time). Outside play time also became much more important to M.

May 2008
Hooray for summertime! We were constantly outside in May (which wasn't the easiest thing for mom, who was in her third trimester). We enjoyed playing outside in the sprinkler (a gift for M from a very good friend!), playing ball, and going to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens to see all the beautiful flowers. M also loved to play with her friends, especially Bence who lived upstairs. It was great for mom and Bea (Bence's mom) to sit back and relax their pregnant bodies while M and Bence played.

June 2008

June was eventful. Dad went to Morocco for the Military, so Grandma E came to spend a few weeks with us! What a fun time we had together. Grandma went on endless walks with M so mom could rest, went with us to the petting zoo, and also to the duck pond. She was so excited when dad came home. About 10 days after dad made it home from Morocco, M's little family of three became a family of four!

July 2008

On July 1, 2008 (the day after Lydia was born) M got to meet her baby sister. She fell in love instantly (just like the rest of us) and has been the best big sister every since. She still adores spending time with her.

August 2008

A month of change. M said goodbye to our apartment as we moved temporarily into her aunt Lorie Jo's house, then in with Grandma and Grandpa E, and then flew across the country to live with Grandma and Pop-pop P. M loved spending time with her cousins. In NJ we got to go with our friends to Atlantic City and to the Zoo.

September 2008

In September we started to settle into our lives out east. Dad started school and the weather cooled off to a nice temperature to make playing outside a lot more fun. M always has fun baking with her mom, especially when that baking involves chocolate!

October 2008
M got to meet her cousins ch and rj again in October when their mom came up to walk in the Philadelphia 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. She had a lot of fun playing with them outside and getting into lots of trouble. There's nothing about cousins to have fun with!

November 2008

The weather got colder, but M still couldn't get enough of the outside. That meant lots of bundling up! With L getting bigger every day, M also enjoyed playing with her sister a lot more. Mom also moved the girls into the same bedroom, which made going to bed much easier for the whole family because M was no longer alone! Sisters are such a wonderful gift.

December 2008

In December we brought out the advent calenders and prepared for Christmas. For Christmas we went down to Virginia to spend the holiday with Uncle Bryan and Aunt Tracey. M had so much fun meeting Brianne, William and Bryson. We were so sad to leave them, but look forward to getting together again.

January 2008

M started her Tumbling Tots class, and has had so much fun! She also got to see snow for the first time in about a year. She calls it "snow man". We got to build a snow man that fell down when it for warmer, and M is still mourning its loss. She is such a light to our family and we feel truly honored to have her as our daughter and to learn and grow with her as she gets older.
