Please Touch Museum

Mr. N went away for the military for a few days this past week, so since we had the car the girls and I took advantage of some of the free things to do around our area (thanks to the military, some of these things were free that is...). We went to the Please Touch Museum for kids and the girls had a blast. It was so much fun to go somewhere made especially for them. The hardest part for me was being on my feet for 5 hours. I'm not use to that...it was probably because I was wearing new shoes for the first time and I was really feeling them. But oh well. It was a small price to pay!

Ever seen the movie Big? This was a floor piano like they had in that movie. The girls had a great time playing on it.

Here are the girls in the entrance to the museum. Of course L decided to pick her nose. She's good at being 2.

The museum had different themed sections. This one was a grocery store where the kids could push carts around and get food and the "buy" it at the registers. This was actually their favorite part of the museum.

This was the newborn hospital section. The girls got to dress like doctors and help the babies.

This was a gardening section. The girls were able to pick carrots and potatoes and various other household and garden tasks.

This was the rainforest section, and was very cool. My favorite part was that they had these trees with ropes the children could shake. At the top of the ropes were bells and shakers and all kinds of things that made it sound like rain. It was so cool. They also had a kind of pipe organ the the children could play with their feet.

This was an Alice in Wonderland/make-believe/Nursery Rhyme section

This was the water section where the children could play with boats and various water toys. We didn't spend a ton of time here (unlike last time) because the girls were anxious to visit their favorite places.

Throughout the museum, whenever we encountered a statue animal, we had to stop so the girls could climb on and get a picture. This was probably one of their favorite things to do.

M loved the merry-go-round. L not so much. We went a second time and it was then that I realized that she actually wanted to sit on one of the benches instead of an animal. She and I did that the second time while M road a horse, and then she was happy!

This was a kind of huge hamster wheel in the space section. It was really dark in their so you can hardly see M running in it.

And this was the car section. They had real model cars and play cars where the children could put wheels and windshields on them. We had a great time and hope to come back!

I know! I wish we had done the rest of the downstairs part the last time we went because that ended up being the girls favorite part. Of course they're girls...so maybe that's why they liked the shopping/baby part better than cars!

That looks like a great hands on place for kids to have fun in. I love museums like that. They are fun yet educational (is that the parent or the teacher coming out in me?)

Where are you From???
