This is Tipsy. She's a Skink, though I don't know which kind. She is currently taking up residence with our family. She's had a long history with us. My sister bought her before she was married as a class pet for her students. After she had children Tipsy came home and became their pet. When my sister's family had to move Tipsy moved in with some of their friends and had been living with them until a little more than a week ago. Their friends are moving now and needed to find a temporary home for Tipsy while their house was on the market, so she's moved in with us. The girls really love her. They love watching her eat and petting her. She's an old girl now...about 10 years I think. She should live another 5-10 years.
Of course my sister's oldest is very sad that Tipsy is with us and not with him. She was always a great pet for them. She's excellent about being held and petted.
Being a sand lizard, she also buries herself in the sand so that only her tail will stick out. She loves hiding in her rock houses too. The girls love to go down and see her, though she really doesn't do much. If you drop dinner in for her she's extremely active catching it, but other than that she just sleeps! I wanted to put pictures up so my nephew could see his old pet.
We miss you!

You're brave. Anything that doesn't have fur and is kept indoors kind of scares me. I'm sure it's fun for the kids though.

Reminds me of my mission. We seemed to frequently have scaly visitors when we least expected them!
