Craziness

Today was Crazy Hair Day at Emmy's school.  I had no idea what to do...and what do you do when you don't know what to do?  Search the internet of course!  I found some good blogs which gave tutorials, etc on how to do fun hairstyles...and just plain cute hairstyles for everyday wear.  Thank heavens for the internet.  We ended up taking some of those ideas and doing our own thing.  Of course Elle had to have her hair done too, even though she's not in school yet.

Here's Emmy's hair.  She was really excited.  I guess there weren't a lot of kids at her school that put a lot of effort into crazy hair, which is sad, but oh well!  Everyone loved Emmy's hair!

On another note, I finished these for Christmas for the girls.  It started out with me just wanting to make a receiving blanket for Louie.  I chose the above fabrics.  I had Elle with me as well and she wanted a blanket too.  By the time we left the store we had fabric for all three girls to have blankets.  It was fun making them.  Not hard, but the quilting stitches take a bit more time that just straight stitches...obviously...

This was the fabric we got for Emmy.  She loves anything to do with animals, so obviously this was fitting.

Elle chose this cat fabric.  It's not my favorite print, but the blanket turned out cute too.

While we were watching General Conference the weekend before last the girls got creative with these sticker eyes they have for this build a face book.  They made us laugh.  Its good to laugh.  It keeps things manageable!

Other than that, our crazy life is going well.  Mr. N is very busy with school.  He is in a Medical Illustration program and is taking Gross Anatomy with the med students and a cadaver lab.  He is also studying the artistic side of things...the different artistic mediums with which to work and using drawing/painting/photoshop to portray different parts of the human body and/or surgical instruments.  He enjoys it, though says it can be hard to change gears.  The science side and the art side are so different and require different parts of your brain.

Life at home is good.  The adjustment to 3 has been pretty easy...just busy.  Its like orchestrating troops in a battle or something all by myself.  Elle has been the most difficult lately just because she's 3.  Two year olds aren't too hard in our house (at least so far).  Three year olds are all kinds of difficult.  Anyways, I take great comfort in knowing other parents are going through the same things as us.  We're not the first to deal with difficult children (though they are wonderful when they aren't making us want to pull our hair out), nor will we be the last!  We're just another crazy family trying to stay above water and teach our children the things they need to know...like the fact that they are children of God, learning get along with others (i.e. siblings), patience, and the fact that underwear is not optional.  Its just another day in paradise...
